Each gathering provides a complete framework for bringing parents together around a relevant preteen parenting topic while giving them space to learn, talk, process, and encourage one another.

Letting Go Without Losing Connection
The preteen years bring growing independence, and parents often find themselves wondering how much to hold on and how much to let go.
This gathering introduces parents to Let Go and Run Beside, using the picture of teaching a child to ride a bike. At some point, a parent has to let go of the seat, but letting go doesn’t mean walking away.
Parents explore what can happen when they don’t give their preteen increasing ownership, as well as what can happen when they let go without continuing to provide the connection, guidance, and support their preteen still needs.
Current research helps parents understand some of the developmental changes happening during these years. Scripture, including Deuteronomy 6 and 1 Samuel 3, helps them consider how they can increasingly give their preteen opportunities to hear from, respond to, and walk with God.
